This is one of my favorites. In high school people didn't ask me what I was going to major in, they asked me where I was going to major in computer science. Working with children had never been an option for me. But after discovering that I was good with children, and more importantly that I loved working with them, I was able to plan out-with a career counselor-a basic set of goals, the main one being to graduate with a degree in child development. This is a typical example of how people who believe in themselves "listen" to themselves about things that count.
